On August 21, 2018, the "Power Quality and the Future" and the double tenth anniversary celebration of the establishment of the alliance and the special committee jointly organized by the Asian Power Quality Industry Alliance and the Power Quality Professional Committee of the China Power Supply Society was successfully held in the Suzhou Qingshan Conference Center.
Professor Xiao Xiangning from North China Electric Power University gave a keynote report
titled "Development Trends of Modern Grids and Their Impact on Power Quality": Combining the
driving forces, evolution trends, and technical requirements of modern power grids, he
proposed that power quality disturbances should not be disturbed. Deterministic changes,
disturbance interaction, rapid voltage changes, disturbance frequency transfer, frequent
occurrence of three-phase imbalance, and worsening harmonic distortion are major power
quality problems faced by modern power grids. It is recommended to pay attention to
sub-synchronous inter-harmonics and ultra-high orders. Hot issues such as harmonics and DC
system power quality.
